Abbreviated biography

Last update: 17/09/2020

Born on January 7, 1988.

After completing 3-month and 5-month research internships on nanomaterials at Tohoku University (Japan; 2010) and Université de Sherbrooke (Canada; 2011) I obtained my Master of Science in Nanoscale Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France; 2011).

I then did my PhD on “Surface functionalization of heterogeneous gold / silica substrates for the selective anchoring of biomolecules and colloids onto LSPR biosensors” under the supervision of Jean-Pierre Cloarec and Yann Chevolot at the Institut des Nanotechnologies de Lyon (2014).

From 2015 until December 2017 I was a post-doctoral researcher in the group of Liberato Manna at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia of Genova (Italy) working on the ERC project TRANS-NANO.

In 2017 I was awarded a Marie Curie fellowship to develop my project PerovSAMs in the group of Henk J. Bolink at the Universidad de Valencia, where I have been working since the 1st of January 2018, first with the aforementioned fellowship and since march 2020 with a Juan de la Cierva fellowship.

Throughout this highly international career I have made significant contributions in the fields of materials’ chemistry, colloidal inorganic nanocrystals, surface analysis and halide perovskites’ optoelectronic devices among others.

I have co-authored 1 book chapter and 50 articles (>50% as first and/or corresponding author) in international peer-reviewed journals. Most of my publications are in the most significant and highest impact factor journals of my field of research such as Nature Energy, Nature Communications and Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). My work has been highlighted on the cover of JACS, Chemistry of Materials and Journal of Materials Chemistry C as well as in an Emerging Investigators special issue of Journal of Materials Chemistry A. My publications cumulate over a thousand citations (h-index=15; source: Google Scholar).

Aside from research I have also maintained a teaching activity throughout my career with over 250 hours of lectures and practical courses in chemistry and chemical engineering at undergraduate level (Ecole Centrale de Lyon, 2011-2014; Universidad de Valencia and Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, 2018-present) as well as specific courses in surface analysis techniques for PhD students (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia; 2015-2017). Eventually, I have supervised a Master of Science thesis and I currently supervise three PhD theses.
